STAY HOME

Why don’t we make this time at home more memorable?

It might be fun to present an activity for kids who’ve been stuck in the house,

that moms and dads can enjoy as well.

Yes. How about making a candy house at home ?

I’m  Kumiko Yoshihashi, the president of Edible Archi.
From 2006to2012in Hiroshima, and now, in Toyoda City, Aichi Prefecture, I’ve worked on kids’ activity workshops with a focus on  architecture.

Among our workshops, the most popular program is candy-house making.
Kids get so excited about choosing house-building parts made of sweets.

The construction is not too easy, especially if they keep eating the parts. But it’s a fun activity that lights up their imagination, as they come up with ideas to build their dream house.

After the  woks is done, they get big smiles on their faces. And they can now eat the house!

Making a candy house is to make a space in our heart, to imagine what kind of people live in the house, and life that occurs inside.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to make a candy house with your family, and enjoy the experience together?
You can share photos of your candy house on the Candy Villege website – a virtual village where you can share the joy of your creations with other candy house architects.
I hope you have fun making your original candy house.

President
Edible Archi   Kumiko Yoshihashi

Here are some photos of candy houses, most of which were made by kids in our workshops. I have so much respect for the ability and creativity of children.
